Sea & Sand

I was reminded of the importance of looking after myself recently as I’d organised a short trip away to stick my feet in the sand.

Arranging a break from busy modern life has become a necessity rather than solely a treat .. a chance to switch myself off and on again.

The change of scene and stepping back from responsibility yields great rewards for me, but there is also the elusive feeling of slowing down and stillness which I’m really after .

Therapy will often look at the momentum we have running, and whether it’s actually healthy. Is that momentum leading us towards peace and a sense of well being, or is it an extension of chaotic headspace running on autopilot ? Have I ever actually switched that off and is the idea of doing so even remotely comfortable ??

I choose to create the stillness that I need to be happy, as in the words of Leon Brown

‘The answers you seek never come when the mind is busy, they come when the mind is still’
